The Ivorian produced wonderful performances last term, scoring 15 goals in 35 games and also dishing up 10 assists in the process. These performances not only helping in clinching the Coupe de France (the FA cup of France) but also the League 1 title, which the club had not won for the past 57 years. And hopefully he can repeat the same hear at Arsenal, who have not seen any trophy since 2005.

What did we learn from last season
Another disappointing season for the Gunners. This time around finishing fourth in the Premier league, and ultimately missing the automatic qualification spot for the Champions League. Were runner's up in the Carling Cup, losing in extra time to a now relegated Birmingham side. Also went as far as the Round of 16 in the Champions league, losing against the eventual winners, Barcelona. In the FA Cup they were eliminated by the Red Devils in the sixth round.
In almost all of the competitions Arsenal showed great promise and desire. But by the end of the season the whole building crumbled. Some say, they couldn't handle the pressure, some say that they weren't good enough.
Well, the Statistics show that arsenal conceded more goals than any other club in the top four, conceding a total of 43 goals. On the other hand the Gunners were also the team scoring the most goals away from home.
While these statistics suggest that Arsenal had done well at front, they also suggest a real need of reinforcements at the back. It is obvious that the departure of Gallas and the injury to Thomas Vermaelen really added to their misery.
Koscielny and Djourou were the regular backs for Arsenal this season and all they did was disappoint; Conceding stupid goals, just as they did against Birmingham in the Carling Cup final and in the defeat against Stoke City in the Premier League, proving that they just weren't good enough.
For that sole purpose Arsene Wenger seems to be fishing in the market for such replacements.
Recently the Gunners have been strongly linked to Cristopher Samba and the ever impressive Gary Cahill.
Samba, who might be considered as the Savior of Blackburn, seems to be a much needed addition to the Gunner's squad. The Blackburn captain played 33 of the 38 games last season and scored 4 goals. He also produced excellent performances when they were needed it and ensured the club' safety.
Strong, commanding in the air and less likely to make fundamental mistakes; this is what Samba has proven to be and exactly what Arsenal need at the moment.
Last season, due to injuries to Fabregas, Van Presie and Vermaelen, the Gunners were also missing with a Leader in the team. The Blackburn captain can also fill in in that department as well.
Another option is Bolton's Gary Cahill, the defender producing consistent performances for the Wanderers. Cahill has played 126 games for Bolton and has scored 13 goals in the process. The Englishman had a wonderful season last term and for his exceptional performances was called up for international duty. The 26 year old has strength, speed, agility, is commanding in the air and has a nag of making crucial tackles. Cahill was one of the pioneers of the wonderful season that Bolton had, producing exceptional performances week in week out. Perhaps Cahill is the exact consistency that is required by Arsenal right now.
At the moment it looks as if Arsene Wenger is looking to be bringing in both players, but it seems imminent for at least one to arrive at the Emirates this season.

NASRI BID REJECTED !!!!
Finally Manchester United have made an offer for the Arsenal star. And the price they are willing to offer is just £20 million.
Nasri who was the star for Arsenal last season in their bid to get the crown, now seems to be unhappy at the club; stating that the desire to win drives him to leave and look somewhere else. What is disappointing is that the club he thinks which can give him the sought after success are the arch rivals. Manchester United with whom Arsenal have a history and the very recent Manchester City who are so much fond of the players that the Gunners produce.
Manchester City, who crossed the finish line just ahead of the Gunners last season now look to become an even bigger threat. With all the money flowing at Eastlands and the high profile players, they pose a serious threat to the Gunners. Manchester City with their recent signing of Clichy also from Arsenal would like to add some attacking options by signing Nasri as well.
And of course Manchester United, the runner's up to the Champions league. They are looking to add to their squad after last year's thumping in the final. After being trashed my Messi and Co. this time around they are looking to change what happened last year and are trying to add some creativity and flair in the team. They find Nasri as the perfect replacement for the retired Scholes.
But, Arsenal look to have a strong grip on the Nasri transfer Saga. They have already rejected a bid from United and are looking to secure their prized asset at their club. It seems as if the French connection between Arsene Wenger and Samir Nasri might just convince the man to stay at the Emirates just as the Professor did with Cesc Fabregas.
Nasri has not yet publically announced that he is leaving the club but it seems so. Arsene Wenger on the other hand has assured the Gooners that SAMIR NASRI WILL NOT BE SOLD TO UNITED. This means that if he is leaving it is either for Manchester City or for United, but for a very high price.

Clichy, the traitor leaves Arsenal for City
Gael Clichy has joined Manchester City for an undisclosed fee. After Days of Speculation that linked the French International to the City of Manchester Stadium, the deal is finally done and the left back joins City on a four year deal.
Clichy, who was the last INVINCIBLE in the team now joins former compatriots, Patrick Viera and Kolo Toure at his new club.
Clichy was an integral part of the Arsenal team and had served the club for the past eight years. He had somehow filled the left-back position as his own. He was ever available and has featured for the Gunners 264 times, scoring twice and dished up 10 assists for his team mates. His regular and consistent performances at the club earning him a total of 10 international caps.
Arsene Wenger also bid his warrior farewell with a blessing. Saying, “We would like to thank Gael for eight years of terrific service to Arsenal, during which time he gave absolutely everything for the club.” And finally said,” Gael leaves with our respect and best wishes. We wish him the very best for his future career.”
The departure of Clichy means that there is another gap for Arsenal to fill. Although Kieran Gibbs has previously filled in for Clichy and has shown some promise but I’m sure that Arsene Wenger would fish for another left-back this season.
