5 reasons why Clint Dempsey wont join Arsenal this summer

Clint Dempsey not made for Arsenal.

5 Reasons why Clint Dempsey wont join Arsenal

1. It seems Arsenal have more than 90% chance of signing Podolski this summer and its obvious Wenger will not buy another striker as we know how mean he is when it comes on spending money on new players. Also he have already stated, "I will add quality not quantity".

2. On-loan players like Carlos Vela, Nicklas Bendtner and Ryo Miyachi will return Arsenal next season. Also we have Chamakh, Park Chu Young and Gervinho fighting for starting 11. Why would Arsene Wenger buy another striker?

3. Clint Dempsey has his contract with Fulham until 2013. He is the top scorer with 22 goals in 33 appearances for Fulham this season and he is progressing well in Fulham and is a regular starter. So, why would he join Arsenal just to be another bench-warmer?

4. Fulham manager, Martin Jol had extended Clint Dempsey's contract in 2009 until 2013 and he will try his best to keep the American International to the club. He is happy with his parent club Fulham and it is for sure Dempsey will not leave Fulham to any other club, at least not to Arsenal for sure.

5. Clint Dempsey had joined Fulham in 2007. It's been 5 years since he joined Fulham from New England Revolution FC. Like Robin Van Persie is Arsenal fans favorite, Dempsey is Fulham fans favorite. Also, Arsene Wenger would never spent  £10 millions on the American International because Arsenal have many similar players like him already on the bench.

  1. 'Fulham manager, Martin Jol had extended Clint Dempsey's contract in 2009 until 2013'- Cant remember Jol being Fulham manager in 2009. Get your facts right please

  2. 1. ok
    2. Yes, but some of those players are thought to be on the way out. Also Dempsey is a goalscoring midfielder (something we don't really have atm), not a striker.
    3. He wouldn't be a bench-warmer, at worst he'd be rotated a lot, but, as I said, we don't really have anyone else like him available.
    4. ok
    5. ok, but Arteta was a fans' favourite, and Henry - all good things come to an end. And Arsenal don't have similar players to Dempsey at all. He would offer something completely different with his heading and finishing abilities.

Not saying I believe the move will happen, but it's not crazy to think that it might - it makes sense for Arsenal, and arguably for Dempsey.

  3. Sorry it was Roy Hodgson not Martin Jol. And yes, Hodgson was manager back then when Dempsey signed the contract extension on August 13, 2009 which will end on 2013.

Hmm, Yup he is an attacking midfielder or deep-lying forward but after Podolski joins Arsenal this summer where will Dempsey fit in?

I am sure Arsene Wenger will play Podolski just beyond RVP; an attacking midfielder or deep-lying striker.

We have Jack Wilshere who is also a better attacking midfielder. Likewise we have Rosicky to fill the gap so attacking midfielder wont be a problem next season.
