Arteta out for rest of the season

Arteta ruled out for the season

Mikel Arteta ruled out for rest of the season due to ankle injury.

Arteta picked up ankle injury during 1-2 defeat at Emirates against Wigan. Arsene Wenger had however told to press that the injury was quite serious after the match.

It was told that he broke his ankle during match but he confirmed that his ankle was not broken through twitter.

Arteta on twitter:
Arsene Wenger is in trouble to choose starting line ups against arc rivals Chelsea on Saturday with Diaby and Wilshere still out due to injury, Benayoun ineligible to play against parent club, Ramsey out of form, RVP still fighting to get his form back and now Arteta injured and ruled out for rest of the season. So, Arsene Wenger needs to do a serious home work in choosing starting line ups.

Arsenal game against Chelsea is a must win game for Arsenal to maintain gap between Spurs but it wont be easy to victory over the Blues who recently won Champions League semi final 1st leg against Barcelona at Stamford Bridge. Arsenal had won by 3-5 at Stamford Bridge in 2011.
