Arsenal resumed linking Phil Jagielka |
Arsenal have relinked Everton defender Phil Jagielka to pursuit England star to Arsenal again this season but they have to work hard on this.
Arsene Wenger had previously linked with Phil Jagielka last year but he could not lure the Everton defender to Arsenal as Everton seemed reluctant to sell his player then. This was a year ago but Arsenal is in the verge to sign a qualified defender this year and he could be the one.
Wenger has been given £60 millions this season to invest on new players, although some of the players are making an exit from Emirates. Chilcy, who has been attracted to AS Roma is likely to leave Arsenal at £30 millions for 5 years contract. Moreover, Roma director Walter Sabatini is willing to offer another player and £7 millions for the left back.
Arsenal, who had linked Samba this season has failed again to sign the defender to Emirates.
Anuradha Desai, The owner of the club said,
"We don't want to let Chris go. I'm confident that we can keep him and I hope he'll stay.
I know he has an ambition to play for Arsenal but I hope we can keep him for another year at least and prove our own ambition."This clearly speculates, Samba will not move Arsenal this year too. Signing 5 years contract with Blackburn last summer, the club representatives are more likely not to sell their defender this season after loosing Phil Jones to Manchester United.
